A Breakthrough Message from Margaret Gibney

Sunday, January 23rd, 2011

The Global Circle of Peace has become very close to my heart. I am so grateful to have met a peer who shares my passion for social transformation and belief in the therapeutic value of creativity for personal and collective change.

I have gratefully accepted the invitation to become a Director of the project as I know that The Global Circle of Peace is helping to make peace a living reality.

Having worked with Lizzie, I have personally witnessed the healing and transformational power of this creative work. It has touched my life deeply and helped me to begin to reconcile old wounds and experience what it truly means to be at peace.

Creating peace is not for the faint-hearted. To achieve peace in the world, we need to have the courage to make peace a reality in our own lives. For Lizzie and me this has meant healing our own personal experiences of conflict and trauma – “going mining” as Lizzie puts it.

The ‘Create Peace’ workshops we are currently developing will equip others with the creative tools, awareness and confidence that have helped provide us with light in our darkness.

Taking Time to Create Peace

Saturday, January 22nd, 2011

Following on on from The 2010 Bath Peace Ceremony on The International Day of Peace (21st September), I have focused my attention on doing in-depth holistic work to deepen my personal practice of peace. This includes a variety of creative and therapeutic interventions to heal and integrate the ongoing effects of post- traumatic stress disorder.

During this period, I have been meeting with our Advisors and Margaret Gibney, our new Director, to discuss how we can best combine our skills and experience to serve others.

Margaret and I are currently developing a series of workshops under the banner ‘Create Peace’. These will help enable others to put the Global Circle of Peace work into practice in a real way that can help enhance and transform their lives.
