Obama calls for ‘prayer and reflection’ after mass Aurora shooting

Friday, July 20th, 2012

President Obama ordered all American flags flown at half-staff until Wednesday and called for the nation to come together Friday after a ‘heinous’ mass shooting in which 12 people were killed in a Colorado movie theatre overnight. At a midnight showing of The Dark Knight Rises, a gunman killed 12 people and injured 59 others.

I read of this horror on the way home tonight. It is chilling to see life imitating ‘art’ in this way as the perpetrator named himself after one of the main characters, ‘The Joker’, and wore a red wig

May The Dove of Peace send and carry The Circle of Peace Dedication around the world this and every night, blessing all those who are suffering. We need to stand together at this time in unity and peace.  May the flame of humanity burn evermore bright.

Sharing The Circle of Peace Dedication – London

Friday, July 20th, 2012

I attended one of Chris Street’s Earth Star group meetings last night which was held at Rudolf Steiner House in London as a part of The Sacred Space programme.  A particular focus was on how, individually and collectively, we could generate more peace at this time around the Olympics and a variety of interesting ideas were proffered by members of this very animated and dedicated group of people.

I shared The Circle of Peace Dedication from the mime-poem ‘Time for Peace on Earth’ and the whole audience joined in. The idea is for them to use the words and mime when they visit the London Earth Star sacred sites. It is a simple idea but an effective way of bridging heaven and  earth.

Peace in every home and heart
Peace across our land
Peace in every mind and body
Peace in every hand

Thank you Chris for a beautiful evening and the two powerful, heart-centred meditations

New Associate in Think Big Theatre. London

Thursday, July 12th, 2012

I had a brilliant meeting today with Anna Whatley and Voltaire Taiwo de Campos. Anna is both Co-founder and Artistic Director of Think Big Theatre, a social enterprise promoting community cohesion and a project co-ordinator at Community Links, a charity based in Canning Town, East London.

Voltaire works alongside Anna in her theatre projects and has many other interesting strings to his bow. Anna  nominated him for the Youth Compassion Award given by the Dalai Lama. (see posting 19th June).  More about Voltaire and The Global Circle of Peace in a few months!. He is an inspirational young man with leadership qualities.

Anna has agreed to take Peace PAX to Malawi and Kenya on her six month work trip for Think Big Theatre which begins this coming October. She is particularly keen to learn the mime-poem ‘Time for Peace on Earth’. Thank you Anna for taking up the baton. May this be the beginning of a fruitful partnership in our shared endeavour to inspire, uplift and empower young people locally and globally.
